Absences
Much of our curriculum at the third grade level is taught verbally in class discussion. Work that is done in class and taken home is used to check for understanding and reinforce learning. That makes missing a day of school hard for your child. If at all possible please schedule appointments around our school schedule.
Of course sometimes it is simply not possible to avoid an absence. In this case please make sure to contact the school and myself for work that your student has missed.
Despite the problems that arise with student absence, please keep your sick child at home! A bowl of soup and the couch is much more beneficial for them while they are healing!

Water Bottles
Please send your child to school with a water bottle. I do ask that bottles have sport caps, to minimize spillage. Having bottles at school is helpful for students who get thirsty during the day. This way, time is spent on learning and not missing important information while students get up for a drink.
